PBS Learning Media (guam.pbslearningmedia.org) is a wonderful website to access any subject and grade level learning resources via media. It is one of the few sites that I have located that offers the amount of video tutorials and lesson plans while offering guidance.

            PBS Learning Media’s first drop-down menu offers teacher support, professional development, and other upcoming teacher events. Subjects covered on this site include Math, English Language Arts, Engineering & Technology, and Health and Physical Education. Under each subject category, you can find each broken down by grade level type ex: Geography, which is a 9^thgrade requirement and so forth. The way I see this menu, it covers all subcategories of each subject we offer in our educational system. 

           I clicked English Language Arts to see a breakdown of what I may find. I then chose Speaking and Listening. On that page, I found over 500 videos for teacher and students to use in the classroom from lessons, stories, games, and tutorials. Under that menu, you will locate another few hundred different formats and media for comprehension and collaboration, point of view, reasoning, evidence, and rhetoric. This selection is the same for all subject categories and subcategories.

            

There is still so much more this site offers. Under the drop-down category “grades,” you may choose from PreK through High School. Under each grade level there you can choose your discipline and type. Under type, you will find many, many resources! Videos, interactive lessons, lesson plans, audio, images, documents, and webpages! All of these resources are filled with information and lessons literally classroom ready.

PBS Learning Media is one of the most useful sites I have found to date. My students enjoy visuals and any other forms of media when incorporated into lessons.  I am sure they will be as excited about his site as I am. I recommend all educators take a look at this site, I am almost sure you will find it very useful and resourceful.
